A fresh breath of air to Turcology departments abroad!

In 2017-2018 academic year, information meetings and seminars were organized for teaching staff assigned to universities abroad within the scope of Turcology Project.

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş who made the opening speech at the meeting, said that it would be of great benefit to use cultural diplomacy as soft power, expressing that joint operations should be carried out in countries where Yunus Emre Enstitüsü centres are located and establishment of liaison points in other countries, is also important.

Şeref Ateş said, "Our teaching staff assigned to universities, should not only teach in classes in the country, but also act as cultural envoys and contribute to cultural diplomacy efforts and represent our country in every area." 

Enstitü departments gave general information to assigned faculty members at the meeting held on September 19-20, 2017 at Yıldırım Beyazıt University Etlik Campus. Head of TİKA Central Asian and Caucasus Department Dr. Ali Özgün Öztürk gave information about TIKA's Project and Activities. Later, Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Department of Public Relations and Advertising Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Ferruh Uztuğ gave a seminar on "Diplomacy Communication in Country's Image Seminar". At the end of the program, assigned instructors received certificates of participation from Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and unit supervisors.
