Both Turkish language and culture were taught

Foreign students from 57 countries who came to Turkey for Yunus Emre Enstitüsü "Turkish Summer School", also participated in cultural and artistic activities throughout the training program held at Balıkesir University. On August 8th, a small concert was organized for students where  Turkish folk instruments were introduced. In addition, students learned how to make bags from waste paper at Karesi Municipality's Hünerli Eller (Skilled Hands) Workshop.

“Turkish Summer School" program by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, which teaches Turkish to tens of thousands of people in its centres located in different regions and cities, was organized in 22 Turkish cities. Within the scope of the program, 700 students from 57 countries who came to Turkey attended Turkish lessons for nearly one month, as well as visiting numerous historical sites and tourist destinations.

They learned about Turkish folk songs and Turkish instruments in Balıkesir

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Turkish Summer School was held in 22 cities including Balıkesir. Turkish language lessons were held until afternoon, and students participated in cultural and artistic activities and visited Balıkesir's historical and tourist sites in afternoons. 19 foreign students who came to Balıkesir, learned Turkish in their respective countries in courses organized by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Centres. Young people blended their language with Anatolian culture in Turkish Summer School and explored Turkish culture and art in activities they participated.

As part of the program held on August 8th, a small concert was held at Balıkesir University and Turkish folk instruments were introduced to students. At the same time, students learned to make bags from waste paper at Karesi Municipality's Hünerli Eller Workshop.

The countries of 19 students in Balıkesir are as follows; Jordan / Amman, Hungary / Budapest, Romania / Bucharest, Qatar / Doha, Albania / Shkoder, Ukraine / Kiev, Germany / Cologne, Somalia / Mogadishu, Kosovo / Pristina, South Korea / Seoul, Georgia / Tbilisi, Albania / Tirana, Poland / Warsaw.
