Turkish President Erdoğan: They attempt to destabilize our country
President Tayyip Erdoğan issued a statement about the terrorist attack on the nightclub 'Reina' in Ortaköy, Istanbul where 39 people were killed and 65 were injured.
President Erdoğan said, "I strongly condemn the attack. They attempt to destabilize our country. We will destroy all threats to our country in their source, and will never give way to such dirty games."
President Erdoğan made a written statement on the terrorist attack in Reina. Erdoğan expressed the following:
"I violently condemn the terrorist attacks that took place in Istanbul's Ortaköy district in the first hours of 2017. May the security officer and compatriots who lost their lives in the deplorable event rest in peace and I remember our foreign guests with respect. I offer my condolences to the families of victims and wish the injured to get well soon.”

Those who target our peaceful nature and their subcontractors make attempts to create chaos by demoralizing the nation, destabilize our country through atrocious attacks aimed at civilians. But we will never give way to such dirty games by keeping our calm as a nation, and by further closing the ranks.
Turkey incessantly struggles against terrorism, and is determined to do what is necessary to ensure the peace in the region and security of its citizens. We are aware that these attacks by various terrorist organizations target our country, and are not independent from the events taking place in our region. We are also committed to destroying threats and attacks against Turkey at their source. In this process, although every life lost wounds us, this also whips up our will to struggle, and reinforce our determination.
As a country and a nation, we will fight not only against the armed attacks by terrorist organizations and the forces behind them but also against their economic, political and social attacks.
