Vienna Yunus Emre Institute presented the art exhibition with the subject of “Building Bridges - Uniting Cultures with Art” to the taste of art lovers on June 15, 2015. The group exhibition included the works of the artists such as Zamir Yushaev, Lom-Ali Sugaipov (Mag.Phil.), Sonja Farcher, Sonjuschka Golovanova and Marat Pacheav, and attracted great attention of the Austrians.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was organized with the cooperation of the Caucasian Studies Association in Austria, was attended by Prof. Dr. Hans Georg Heinrich from University of Vienna; ÖVP Party Leopoldstadt District President, Ing. Hubert Pichler; and President of Islamic Religious Authority of Austria, Dr. Fuat Sanaç. In the opening, the Institute Manager Mevlüt Bulut stated that Yunus Emre Institute has been operating since 2009, spread to a large area from Tokyo to London, from Cairo to Sarajevo, and reached nearly 40 centers as of 2015. Bulut continued by reminding that Vienna was one of the important culture capital cities in Europe and a place where important artists and art movements emerged, and said “We will tell about examples of Turkish culture, art and literature, and thus contribute to this artistic city".

Prof. Dr. Hans Georg Heinrich emphasized that he had been nested with different cultures for years due to his department, and at that point, cultural differences are not disintegration but interknowledge and a wealth. Then, he thanked Vienna Yunus Emre Institute for hosting the program. In addition, Dr. Fuat Sanaç expressed his appreciation for being in such a nice environment, as well as having such a cultural center in the city, of which absence had been felt for years. The group exhibition, which included five artists from different nations, is an answer through art to the intolerance for the differences, which has started to become widespread in Europe. The program, which highlights the theme that differences are not a source of conflict but of wealth, includes paintings of İstanbul and Turkish Culture from Russian, Chechen and Austrian artists.

The art exhibition of “Building Bridges - Uniting Cultures with Art” can be visited in the exhibition hall of Vienna Yunus Emre Institute until July 16.
