Famous actor Will Liu who visited Turkey at the invitation of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, gathered with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Hüseyin Yayman accompanied by Enstitü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş. Will Liu also met with TRT General Director İbrahim Eren.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Çavuşoğlu discussed tourism and publicity of Turkey with Chinese actor and producer Will Liu, who visited Turkey as the guest of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu gathered with famous Chinese producer and actor Will Liu, who visited Turkey at the invitation of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü within the framework of cultural diplomacy efforts, and discussed Turkey's goal of hosting 3 million Chinese tourists and publicity of Turkey in China.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Çavuşoğlu received Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and one of China's most renowned producers and actors Will Liu, his wife and his team, and was informed on projects aimed at publicity of Turkey.

The visit is expected to contribute to the publicity of Turkey within the framework of Turkey's goal of hosting 3 million Chinese tourists as Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed in a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Vang Yi, held in China last month.

Will Liu, the leading actor in TV show "Where are you going Father?" that has broken rating records in China with 75 million viewers weekly and has a crew of 800 people, currently visits Turkey's historical sites and tourist destinations with his family and an observation team of 11 people. The show "Where are you going Father?" is expected to be filmed in Turkey after the visit.

Will Liu's visit to Turkey is organized as part of cultural diplomacy efforts carried out by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

VISIT TO THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM

Will Liu, the protagonist of China's most watched television show "Where are you going Father?” visited Turkey with his family at the invitation of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and visited the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with Enstitü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş.

Will Liu, famous Chinese actor who visited Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Hüseyin Yayman in his office with Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş, expressed his joy in being in Turkey.

Hüseyin Yayman: A Major Coincidence

Reminding that the Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş visited China to hold important official visits, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Yayman marked that it was a major coincidence that one of China's greatest artists visited the Ministry around the same date.

Yayman stated that they wish to host Chinese people in Turkey and continued as follows: "China is one of the largest countries in the world. We want millions of Chinese people to visit Turkey. We send our greetings and love from Anatolia to our friends in China through you. We are honoured to have hosted you. We also would like to thank President of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Professor Şeref Ateş for organizing this meeting.”

Yayman, who received information about the efforts of delegates, spoke as follows:

"We invite our Chinese friends to Turkey. This is a mysterious country, the open air museum of the world. We are talking about a region with a story. Turkish TV series sector is one of the most productive sectors in the world. Turkish cinema has many achievements. Turkey is the second country selling highest number of TV series after USA. Turkish series are followed all over the world. We would be pleased to host our Chinese friends in Turkey, and have films shot in Turkey with distinguished artists. As the Ministry, we are ready to provide all kinds of moral and material support. We are open to all kinds of collaborations. Our Minister is in China, and this proves it.” 

Reminding that Turkey is the second in the world with regard to TV series export, Hüseyin Yayman marked that Anatolia is the centre of civilizations. Yayman proposed Will Liu to shoot a film in Turkey and expressed that they would offer all kind of support as the Ministry in case a project is carried out in Turkey.

The world famous Chinese actor and film producer Will Liu, the protagonist of "Where are you going Father?”, the most watched reality show in China with a crew of 800, expressed his gladness in being in Turkey.

Will Liu said, "We are very excited to have started exploring the beauties of Turkey which is a mysterious country for us. We are looking forward to realizing projects here. "

Şeref Ateş: Such visits contribute to the relations between peoples

President of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş thanked the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Hüseyin Yayman for receiving them and marked that Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and Ministry of Culture and Tourism should work hard to maintain the friendship between Turkey and China and between the peoples. Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş spoke as follows:

"People communicate with each other through the screen because face-to-face communication is difficult in our age. In this respect, it is an honour for us to be hosting the prominent figures of China here. In particular, the General Directorate for Cinema under Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Turkey has made serious investments in cinema and film sectors. There are major incentives for filming in Turkey or together with Turkey. As the Enstitü, our field is culture and cultural interaction, so you may address Mr. Minister your questions regarding projects you will carry out in this field with us in Turkey or for Chinese audiences. I also hope that this meeting will pave the way for such collaborations.”

President Ateş expressed that he likes the show produced by the delegation member and actor Will Liu with his wife, children and father, and continued as follows: "If there is a good example for humanity, we adopt it from China. Because in our philosophy, there is the principle of 'seeking wisdom even in China'. I hope this visit will contribute to the relations between the peoples.”

TRT VISIT

Will Liu, who paid official visits to both ministries, visited TRT General Directorate in Oran for the last meeting in his Ankara itinerary. Will Liu paid a visit to TRT General Director İbrahim Eren with Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş, and gave brief information on the projects he plans to realize in Turkey and took İbrahim Eren's opinions on behalf of the institution.

After his last meeting with TRT in Ankara, Will Liu visited Atatürk's mausoleum with his family and completed his program in the capital.
