"Crossing Realities – TURKIYE" Exhibition at Vienna Yunus Emre Enstitüsü

Vienna Yunus Emre Institute brought Victoria Coeln's "Crossing Realities Turkiye" exhibition together with art lovers on May 23rd , 2017. The opening ceremony was attended by Vienna Undersecretary Semra Rana Gökmen, Director of the Austria Istanbul Cultural Office Romana Königsbrun, and numerous museum directors and art lovers in Vienna.

Enstitü Director Ayşe Yorulmaz, who made the opening speech of the exhibition, expressed their satisfaction with exhibition of world famous cultural treasures of Turkey in Vienna through a different perspective with Victoria Coeln's view.

Art historian and curator Lucas Gehrmann who took the stage, mentioned the importance of Coeln's work. Speaking of historical sites in Turkey depicted in artist's works, Gehrmann noted that Coeln selected works in this exhibition from sections where Eastern and Western cultures encounter and cross.

Crossing Realities Turkiye project where Austrian artist Coeln reflects Turkey's historical sites through different lighting applications, promises the visitors a distinct space perception. Historical sites such as Ephesus, Göbeklitepe and Cappadocia are depicted in an unusual way.

Vienna Yunus Emre Enstitüsü venues will also feature lighting applications of the exhibition which can be visited from May 24 to June 30 2017.
