The art exhibition titled “Sorrow of Srebrenica”, which was organized due to 20th anniversary of Srebrenica genocide, was opened at Culture-Art Center of Yunus Emre Institute Sarajevo on July 10, 2015. The exhibition included paintings with themes of Bosnian War and Srebrenica genocide which were made by Bosnia-Herzegovinian Artist, Hariz Bole Grahić and prepared by the art specialist Jasmin Bajramoviç. The exhibition was attended by numerous invitees as well as Yunus Emre Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Hayati Develi.

During his speech, Develi pointed out the fact that wars made an immense permanent impact on societies, and that 20 years ago, a massacre took place in Srebrenica for all the world to see. He stated that it was quite meaningful for Yunus Emre Institute to host an exhibition which addresses Srebrenica on such a significant day which should never be forgotten. Develi mentioned works of the Institute and completed his words, “As an institution that adopts Yunus Emre’s tolerance as a mission, we have an understanding that takes a lesson from history but does not bear a grudge. We request development of Bosnia Herzegovina in every field. We wish that common values with Turkey are maintained primarily in culture, art and history.”

The exhibiton will be open to visits for 10 days.
