Konya excursion of Turkish Summer School students

Selçuk University hosted Konya foot of Turkish Summer School program organized by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü in 23 different Turkish cities. 20 foreign students from 15 countries visited Konya for nearly four weeks attended Turkish lessons as well as visiting numerous historical, natural sites and tourist destinations. They visited famous tourist destinations in Konya such as Akyokuş Hill, Science Centre, Mevlana Bazaar, Martyrs' Cemetery, İplikçi Mosque, Alaaddin Hill and Meram Vineyards...

Students got the opportunity to explore not only Konya but also Nevşehir and Aksaray. They visited Sultanhan Caravansary in Aksaray, Selime Cathedral, Derinkuyu Underground City, Güvercinlik Valley, Three Beauties, Tavşanlı Cave, Ürgüp and Avanos in Cappadocia. Eğirdir Lake, Yazılı Canyon, Sille Dam, Butterfly Valley and Flower Garden were also among destinations visited in the excursion.

In the last week of the program, a picnic, archery training and applied marbling art activity were organized in Konya City Park. Turkish summer school team which altered the course to famous cave in Seydişehir and Beyşehir Lake, lastly took a yacht tour in Beyşehir.

Throughout their stay in Konya, the students got the opportunity to taste traditional foods on site. They tasted popular examples of Turkish cuisine such as meat bread, höşmerim, stuffed leaves, olive oil stuffing, baklava and wedding soup in Konya. Students said goodbye to Konya expressing that they had such a great time in Turkey that they can never forget.
