Third Turkish Proficiency Test for year 2017 Held

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü held the third Turkish Proficiency Test of 2017 on Saturday, August 12th simultaneously at 32 test centres in 31 countries.

The Turkish Proficiency Test (TPT) taken by 666 candidates was held in two sessions. The reading, listening and writing skills of the candidates were tested in the first session; as speaking skills were tested in the second.

The results of the test taken by candidates who want to certify Turkish language proficiency, will be announced in 20 days. Successful candidates will be granted the Turkish Proficiency Certificate at levels B2, C1, C2.

Number of applications increased by nearly 80%

While 370 candidates took the third Turkish Proficiency Exam of 2016 held in September last year, the number of candidates increased by 80% this year, and reached 666. There was intense interest in the test from all around the world. The highest number of applications to the test, held simultaneously at 31 countries, 32 cities was from Azerbaijan followed by Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran.

Candidates who were successful in Turkish Proficiency Test that tests 4 basic language skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking), will become eligible to receive the Turkish Proficiency Certificate at levels B2, C1 or C2 based on their scores.

The interest in the Turkish Proficiency Test, held three times a year since 2013, increases every year. So far, 3250 candidates who were successful in the Turkish Proficiency Test taken by 4900 candidates to date, were qualified for the Turkish Proficiency Certificate.

Those who hold the Turkish Proficiency Certificate at the end of TPT, applied for Turkish to attain a standardized test on the international scale and to support policies that facilitate admission of foreign students, are exempt from Turkish Preparatory Class when they are qualified to receive education in any Turkish university. Turkish Proficiency Certificate provides a great advantage in job applications to individuals who wish to work in international companies that operate in Turkey or in their respective countries, who aspire to become a Turkish interpreter or teaching candidates who wish to teach Turkish abroad as well as students.
