Johannesburg Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and YTB collaborated for Turkey Scholarships introductory meeting aimed at high school principals.

Speaking at the meeting, Gauteng State Minister for Social Development Mayathula Khoza, addressed the economic, social and educational collaborations between South Africa and Turkey, and said: "Turkey has a strong civilization accumulation from history. As South Africa, we must benefit from education opportunities in Turkey and increase the number of educational and social operations between the two countries.”

YTB President Mehmet Köse also mentioned the importance of Turkey Scholarships by giving information on education opportunities in Turkey.

Expressing that there are a number of studies to be carried out between Turkey and South Africa in the field of education, Köse stated the following: "Turkey currently hosts more than 100 thousand international students. Turkey stays the course to become a more attractive education centre with its Turkey Scholarships program. Turkey is frequently mentioned in recent years with its dynamic and humanitarian foreign policy, and aims to raise future leaders, and individuals who possess suitable professional qualifications in fields required by other countries, with thousands of international students from all world countries admitted.”

Köse explained that 106 thousand 550 people from 170 countries applied for scholarships only this year.

Head of YTB International Students' Office Murat Kazancı gave information on the scope of Turkey Scholarships and the application requirements. YEE Coordinator Gökhan Kahraman informed the participants about YEE's operations in South Africa.
