Sakarya University hosted the first International Lexicology Symposium organized on 26-27 November 2014, and the second symposium was held at Istanbul University Faculty of Literature between 3-4 November 2015 with coordination of Istanbul University's Literature Department of Linguistics.  

Parallel to the developments in information technologies, traditional printed dictionaries used until today have been replaced by electronic dictionaries, and these developments have increased the significance of interdisciplinary approaches in dictionary writing field. The goal of this scientific event titled The Second Lexicology Symposium: “Electronic Dictionaries” is to discuss the developments in the area from theory to practice and offer solutions to issues in the area.
