3rd Turkish Archery Training kicks off

The Kemankeş (Archers) Project, first implemented on October 19, 2017 by Yunus Emre Institute in collaboration with the Archers' Foundation continues to grow. In 2018, the project was implemented in 16 counties, and in two terms, 72 classrooms were opened, and more than 1,000 people were given training on Turkish archery. The highly popular Turkish archery courses continue to be held through its third term in 16 countries while the Kemankeş Project is introduced to 10 cities in 9 countries as well.

The preparations are under way for starting Turkish archery courses at Yunus Emre Institute's branches in Tirana, Baku, Sarajevo, Tbilisi, Zagreb, Podgorica, Budapest, Skopje, Lahore and Tunis. The Third Archers' Training Program, held between April 15 and 22, 2019, was attended by 22 archers who were selected among some 300 applicants from 10 countries. At the Archer's Foundation in Istanbul, the archers go through an intensive training given by the trainers from the Archer's Foundation Sports Club while having a chance to experience Turkish culture in its unique historical atmosphere.

The program will end on April 21, and the archers who are eligible to receive certificates will return to their countries where they will give archery courses under the Turkish archery curriculum using the training materials and handmade archery equipment provided to them. Everyone who are interested in Turkish archery will be able to attend the courses given at Yunus Emre Institute's branches at specified times and perform practice shooting.
