Yunus Emre Institute has held a concert entitled "Anadolu Ezgileriyle/Ney in Ethno Jazz" in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.

During the concert held on February 18 at Tbilisi State Conservatory, ney (reed flute) player Burcu Karadağ played a special repertoire of Turkish and Anatolian tunes blended with modern music.

Karadağ was accompanied by balaban player Alafsar Rahimov, pianist Etibar Asadli and guitarist Pierre Thomas Fredom, giving the audience a memorable show.

Noting that the concert contained mainly Anatolian, Azerbaijani and Balkan folk songs with huge interest from the audience, Karadağ indicated that ney is not sufficiently promoted in Georgia. "People are keen to listen to its sound, but few are eager to play it. I am glad to take our culture and music here thanks to this organization. It made us happy to see the jubilation in the audience. We played the song 'Cilveloy' from this country. I believe we have found a common ground," she said.

The concert was attended by representatives of foreign missions, officials from Turkish institutions and many art lovers.
