"Breath of Yunus: Language of Love" concert was held at the 60th center opened by Yunus Emre Institute in Syria, Azaz. The poems of the folk poet Yunus Emre were sang at the concert on February 18, 2021.

A concert called "Breath of Yunus: Language of Love" was held at Azaz Yunus Emre Institute. The concert was held within the scope of the "Year of Yunus Emre and Turkish".

The concert brought the ancient wind of peace that is symbolized with culture, art and olive tree to the people of Azaz and Afrin through the laconic verses of Yunus Emre.

The concert was held at the Conference Hall of Azaz Yunus Emre Institute on February 18, 2021, and a music group of eight that is comprised of Turkish and Syrian musicians had a performance in the concert. Many chants of different modes composed by Yunus Emre, a Turkish folk poet and Sufi, were performed during the first part of the concert. Nihavend saz semai of Mesud Cemil was performed afterwards. The concert was transformed into a music fest in the second part with a repertoire that is comprised of the ancient Arabic musical works.

THE WORKS OF TANBURI CEMIL BEY AND HIS SON ARE INDISPENSABLE

Adnan el-Esmer, the music arranger and composer of the Syrian band, emphasized that he loved the Turkish music and mentioned that the saz works of Tanburi Cemil Bey and his son Mesut Cemil Bey were especially of interest to him.

The musician El-Esmer said that Tanburi Cemil Bey had many important works for the world music and especially the Eastern music that could be considered masterworks, and that these works included complex musical harmonies and rhythms which also incorporate academic teaching.

WALKING ON THE SAME ROAD AS YUNUS EMRE INSTITUTE IS A GREAT FEELING

Adnan El-Esmer mentioned that it was a great chance and value for them to be a part of the activities organized under Yunus Emre Institute and that walking on the same road as the people who were working under the roof of Yunus Emre Institute for the same purpose was a great feeling.

THE MESSAGE OF YUNUS EMRE IS IN THE ESSENCE OF TURKISH CIVILIZATION

El-Esmer emphasized that the message of Yunus Emre, the famous Turkish folk poet and Sufi, was quite important in understanding the culture and civilization of Turkey, which stood by Syrian people from the beginning, and said that he was quite happy to be a part of this culture and civilization.
