Celebrating April 23 with All the Children of the World

Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) organized online ceremonies all around the world for the April 23, The National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) held an event in Northern Syria for the April 23, The National Sovereignty and Children's Day. At the event, held at the Cultural Center in Azaz, located on the Syrian territory opposite of Kilis, the President of YEI Şeref Ateş celebrated the children's day through the opening speech he gave via teleconference.

Çocuklar Hacivat-Karagöz, gölge oyunu ve drama etkinliği ve oyunlarla eğlendi.

The children had fun with the Hacivat-Karagöz, shadow plays, drama activities and games.

YEI gave cotton candy, Ottoman macun, popcorn as well as various gifts to the children coming from the camps for the event.

YEI staff, orphaned children and notables of the region participated in the ceremony.

In his statement, Fikret Çıtak, the Director of the YEI Azaz Cultural Center, said, "We are celebrating this holiday with children who live in the camps of Azaz and have lost their mothers and fathers. These children are the hope, the future of Syria. Everything that the Republic of Turkey stands by, that it breathes life in will have hope and resurrect. We experience the hope through these children.".

THE APRIL 23 WITH CHILDREN'S GAMES IN CAIRO

The children participating in the Institute's “April 23 Children's Day” programme played a number of children's games, such as handkerchief grabbing and hopscotch, besides some music and singing activities.

The children had fun to their hearts' content at the celebrations in Cairo and Dakar.

 

 

 

 

CELEBRATIONS IN DAKAR LASTED 3 DAYS

In Dakar, the capital of Senegal, the April 23 celebrations were also held with great enthusiasm.

Celebrations were held on April 23, 24 and 25, 2021 with the children at the Daaras, where the orphaned and low-income children are educated in Senegal. 

 

23 APRIL ENJOYMENT IN KABUL

Yunus Emre Institute in Kabul celebrated April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day with great enthusiasm with the event held at Alauddin State Orphanage.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Afghanistan, Mr. Oğuzhan Ertuğrul

 Oğuzhan Ertuğrul, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Gulam Haydar Ceylani, Deputies of Kabul and Badahşan, General Director of Orphanages, Kabul YETKM trainees and many Turkish and Afghan officials attended the event.

National anthems were sung and speeches were made in the hall program, which started with the recitation of the Quran. The stage performance of the animation group was watched with applause. The songs were sung by the children. The salon program ended when all the children staying in the orphanage received the gift of clothes and shoes given by the Yunus Emre Institute.

The enthusiasm for the holiday continued with the iftar program held in the garden of the orphanage. The children, who received their gifts, went out to the garden, painted their faces, and had fun by participating in the competitions. The competitions held until the iftar hour were watched by the guests. Various gifts were distributed in the competitions. The program ended after the iftar meal.
