A certificate ceremony was conducted to honor civilian and military personnel who successfully completed Turkish courses organized in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, Yunus Emre Institute in Brunei, and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

At the ceremony held at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Defense Academy, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi, Brunei’s Chief of General Staff, and Prof. Hamit Ersoy, Turkish Ambassador to Bandar Seri Begawan, presented certificates to the trainees. 

In his speech at the program, Ambassador Prof. Hamit Ersoy expressed strong confidence that these courses organized for diverse professional groups and various institutions and organizations mark the beginning of long-term cooperation. 

Ambassador Prof. Ersoy expressed, “We hope that the Turkish courses will play a pivotal role in establishing strong foundations for enhanced information exchange and cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, and we look forward to the swift finalization of the three defense-related agreements currently being prepared.” 

Noting their readiness to organize advanced Turkish courses, Ambassador Ersoy highlighted that Yunus Emre Institute has been actively conducting a variety of activities in Brunei for over a year, including language courses, storytelling events, Turkish cinema days, archery courses, and promotions of Turkish cuisine on Brunei state television channel RTB, in collaboration with public institutions and various academic entities.

Lale Ersoy, Coordinator of Yunus Emre Institute, in Brunei expressed satisfaction with the growing number of activities conducted by the institute in Brunei and the expanding network of collaborations with esteemed institutions and organizations.

Coordinator Ersoy mentioned that it is highly significant for Yunus Emre Institute that the interest in Turkish culture and the Turkish language in Brunei is reflected in high-level state institutions.

The program ended on a delicious note with participants enjoying various delicacies from Turkish cuisine.
