Çizgi Kukla Theater in Kotor of Theater For Children

Çizgi Kukla Theater has represented Turkey at the 27th Kotor Festival of Theater for Children in Montenegro.

The theater group, invited thanks to cooperation between Yunus Emre Institute's Podgorica Branch and Podgorica Office of Turkish Airlines (THY), staged its first show on Wednesday, July 3, during the event held between July 1 and 12.

The festival, organized by Kotor Art Independent Art Institute with support from the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and the Municipality of Kotor, was opened with the play entitled "Ivo Vizin - The Captain of Dreams" in the "Summer Stage" in Kotor on July 1, 2019. The opening ceremony was attended by Kotor Mayor Vladimir Jokić, directors of local cultural centers, representatives of diplomatic missions and numerous children and their parents from Kotor. Mayor Jokić entrusted the symbolic key of the Municipality of Kotor to the children.

During the festival, opened with the motto "Journey to the Moon" this year, Çizgi Kukla Theater, representing Turkey, brought the play the "Town Musicians of Bremen" by Grimm Brothers to the taste of the audience using the black light technique in Kotor Cultural Center on July 3, 2019.

This year's festival will see 109 plays by various theater groups from Norway, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Croatia, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Israel, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine, Luxembourg, Austria, Russia, Bulgaria, Italy and Scotland
