Cultural Institutes Meet in Paris

Yunus Emre Institute has met participants at the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) booth during the "Fête de l'Europe" (Feast of Europe) festivities at Paris Metropolitan Municipality Square.

A delegation including Former President of the Council of Europe, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, and Council Member in charge of European Union Affairs Hermano Sanches Ruivo paid a visit to the EUNIC's booth.

Following the visit, the delegation went to Tour Saint Jacques Square to open the exhibition entitled "Visages d'Europe" (Faces of Europe). At the exhibition "Visages d'Europe," prepared under the leadership of EUNIC Paris and with the participation of Yunus Emre Institute's Paris Branch as well as the cultural institutes from Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Luxembourg, world-renowned Ara Güler was among the photographer whose photographs were put on display. The exhibition is open to visitors until May 29, 2019.

Yunus Emre Institute took part also in the "Promenades Europénnes" (Walking Routes in Europe) and European Suitcase events, conducted as part of the Feast of Europe festivities, held between May 4 and 5, 2019. The European Suitcase, containing the games and materials, served to portray a diversity of languages and cultures of kids from different countries.

A talk was held on Abidin Dino, one of the pioneers of the contemporary Turkish painting who lived in Paris for some time, at the "route of art and literature" event performed at Place du Tertre Square in Montmartre.
