Egyptian Students Learning Turkish Gather in Cairo

Egyptian students studying Turkish online at the Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, gathered at the “Meeting Turkish Culture” event.

Turkey's Cairo Charge d'affaires Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, Cairo YEI Coordinator Emin Boyraz, and approximately 400 Egyptian trainees who received online training at the institute attended the event held at the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute.

After the program, Turkey's Cairo Charge d'affaires Ambassador Şen.said, “I saw many Egyptian youth, mostly women, and female students. Indeed, in my meetings with them, I observed a very warm, sincere, and increasing interest in Turkey and Turkish culture.”

Reminding that he was appointed as the Charge d'affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Cairo about 10 days ago, Şen said:

“Yunus Emre Institute has been successfully continuing its activities for 10 years without any interruption, and recently it has been giving Turkish courses to 5-6 thousand students annually. I even learned that the most recent applications had reached 7,000. We are very pleased with that.”

“I CAN SAY THAT THERE WILL BE MORE POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS IN TURKEY-EGYPT RELATIONS”

Referring to the Turkey-Egypt relations, Şen noted that the two countries are two brotherly nations with deep roots and history.

Stating that the Turkish and Egyptian peoples are aware of these cultural and historical ties, Şen said, “I can say that there will be much more positive developments in Turkey-Egypt relations with my appointment in the upcoming period. Our work in this direction is going on. I have complete faith in that our relations, especially in culture, art, economy, and trade, will develop in many areas and will come to much better points.”

Emin Boyraz, Cairo Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator, also stated in his opening speech within the scope of the program that they aimed to build friendship and cultural bridges between Turkey and Egypt.

Addressing the Egyptian trainees, Boyraz said, “You are the most important pillar of this friendship bridge established by learning Turkish. We have great faith in that you will play a major role in the relations between both countries in the future.”

Turkish folk dance performances and Turkish music recital were presented to the students who visited the "Traditional Turkish Clothing" exhibition prepared by the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute within the framework of the program held at the Institute with the slogan "Turkish is Everywhere in the World".
