In the event attended by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü (YEE) management and personnel, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş spoke as follows: “We continue to carry out intense activities. Our motto was to 'Continue during State of Emergency' and we actually hosted 550 foreign students in Summer School program despite extraordinary circumstances following the invasion attempt on July 15th and crowned it with Turkish Festival at the end. We regard these students as Turkey's cultural envoys in their respective countries. Our activities abroad intensely continue with this enthusiasm and thrill. We continue to expand in various continents as well. Particularly sending instructors and professors abroad as part of Turcology project will speed up our projects carried out in this context. We signed a protocol with University of Health Studies. As of October 1st, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü will launch a preparation class in the School of Nursing established by Somalia University of Health Studies in Mogadishu to offer education in Turkish and will provide Turkish instruction.”

Foreign Journalists to be hosted in Turkey

President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş who held the last meeting with Directorate of Strategical Development before Eid Greeting event, marked that the agenda of the meeting was GPDNet (Global Public Diplomacy Network) YEE is the term president of, and gave the following information on the activity to take place in early October:

“At early October, there is a program for which journalists from 10 countries will visit Turkey. We attach importance to this event to be held at early October. Thanks to your efforts, devotion and faith we carry out activities in different countries every week, everyday despite the circumstances in Turkey you are aware of. Thank God that our government supports us materially and morally. We do not regard it as a burden or object to it for we fulfil a major duty. I repeat this every chance I get: This is a foundation and we do not have the luxury of regarding it as a burden by our duty. Of course we make efforts to improve the existing conditions for you to carry out your tasks better and easily come over the obstacles. We will use our skills and means to the end in line with our course. We will try to do our best for Turkey.”

Corporate Identity and Belonging

Prof. Dr. Ateş saying that “Sense of belonging both inside and outside the institution matters,” defined “corporate identity” as follows:

“What we call corporate identity are not visuals with organisation's logo on them. Corporate identity is you feeling that you belong here. This is why you should positively motivate and encourage one another to fulfil your duty and for the future of our nation. Even if you have the best designs, best logos by largest companies, what bases corporate identity on solid foundations is the personnel of that organisation having a sense of belonging. We wish the Enstitü to live for tens of years and to continue introducing Turks, Turkey, Turkish culture and language abroad. The primary force in cultural diplomacy is human force. What matters is your individual position rather than what you explain. I call out to all 400 friends both in the headquarter and abroad: The best method to explain Turkey, Turkish nation and culture is your stand and you must act with this awareness.”

Stating that Yunus Emre Enstitüsü personnel will get tired after the vacation, President Ateş ended his speech with the following wish: “Rest well for nine days. Hopefully a busy schedule will await you afterwards. I wish you to have the best Sacrifice Holiday with your families and loved ones. Those who will drive out of town, please be careful on the road. I wish you to return safely and continue where you left off. Eid mubarek.”
