Ercan Kesal and Tarık Tufan in Skopje

Famous actor Ercan Kesal and screenwriter and writer Tarık Tufan have been the guests of honor at the International Literature Festival PRO-ZA Balkan.

Actor, writer and screenwriter Ercan Kesal, known to the people in his role as "İdris Koçovalı" in the TV series "Çukur" (The Pit), and Tarık Tufan, who has become famous with his latest book which was translated into Macedonian, attended the panel discussion hosted by Yunus Emre Institute's Skopje Branch during the 7th literature festival.

The panel discussion, attended by the prominent literature figures and art lovers, started with the keynote speech delivered by Festival President Deyan Traykovski.

The panel discussion was moderated by Deyan Traykovski and Aleksandar Prokopiev.

Kesal pointed out that literature is the main reason for many things he does and maintained that literature is indispensable for cinema. Noting that he has written eight books so far, Kesal talked about his experience in screenwriting and acting.

Award-winning screenwriter and writer Tarık Tufan met his readers and answered their questions. Following the panel discussion which covered culture, art and cinema in addition to literature, Tufan signed his book entitled "Beni Onlara Verme" (Don't Give Me To Them), which was translated into Macedonian, for his fans.

The program ended with the photography exhibition entitled "İstanbul'dan Anadolu'ya" (From Istanbul to Anatolia) by photography artist Mustafa Dedeoğlu.

The International Literature Festival PRO-ZA Balkan, which started on May 19, ended on Tuesday, May 21.
