A First from Yunus Emre Institute in Gambia

Yunus Emre Institute has started to teach Turkish to Gambian soldiers in their country for the first time.

Gambian soldiers started to learn Turkish at Gambian Armed Forces Training School. 30 members of the Gambian army, including non-commissioned officers, sergeants, captains and officers with different ranks will be receiving Turkish language courses for 12 hours a week. The courses will be held at "Atatürk" classroom, located in the Gambian Armed Forces Training School campus. The training course took start on November 14 and will continue until the end of July 2020, address speaking, writing, reading and listening skills.

At the end of the language course to be given by Mehmet Akif Alkaya, a faculty member from Ahi Evran University, on behalf of Yunus Emre Institute, the trainees will be tested by Senegal / Dakar Military Attaché. 19 training with the best scores will be sent to Turkey to receive military training.
