"Hand in Hand in Turkey for a Better World"

1,000 students invited to Turkey by Yunus Emre Institute within the scope of the Turkish Summer School have attended a tour of Bosporus and the islands in Istanbul, Turkey's capital of culture and art, as part of the event "Hand in Hand in Turkey for a Better World."

Two specially prepared ferries were allocated to the trip and the Turkish Summer School students were briefed about the historical sites they came across during the trip. The students had an opportunity to enjoy the landscape of Istanbul from the sea as they listened to the Turkish music, and painted the city's skyline on the fabric canvas with their hands in the company of painter Şafak Tavkul. Following its completion, the artwork will be displayed at Cemal Reşit Rey Hall on Thursday, August 9.

The world's youths unify in Turkish

Yunus Emre Institute has been hosting hundreds of students who love the Turkish language from diverse countries around the globe since 2010, and this year, the Institute welcomes 1,000 students from 118 countries as part of the Turkish Summer School project between July 16 and August 12, 2018.

The program is attended not only by the students from the Institute's branches abroad as well as the Turkology departments of the universities which have signed protocols with the Institute, but also numerous students who want to get know Turkey and the Turkish language more closely, and as such, it represents a gathering place for the youths from diverse geographies.

The participating students have a chance to learn the Turkish language and get to know about Turkey by living in the country and being exposed to the historical, geographic and cultural assets of various provinces in our country and improving their Turkish skills at favorite universities they visit.

The program also enables world communities to get to know each other, and the students return to their respective countries with unique memories concerning the Turkish culture and will act as ambassadors of Turkey in their countries. 

Turkology students meet in the capital

150 Turkology students from 33 countries are hosted at the Turkology Summer School, organized in collaboration with Hacettepe University's Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center (TÖMER).

Under the Turkology Cooperation Protocol, signed between Yunus Emre Institute and 95 universities in 46 countries, the successful Turkology students who have not been to Turkey previously are hosted at the summer school.

Staying in Turkey as guests for a period of one month, they have a chance to improve their Turkish skills and discover Turkish culture, history and social live closely through social, cultural and touristic trips.

Prospective filmmakers attend the summer school

Yunus Emre Institute has introduced the Turkish Cinema Summer School in cooperation with İstanbul Şehir University as part of the 9th summer school activities this year.

24 people, including undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students and filmmaking sector employees from 19 countries, attend the program between July 30 and August 12, 2018. The participants have access to rich courses from prominent filmmaking figures and academics and meet directors and have an opportunity to know closely Turkey and the Turkish cinema through city trips and various activities.
