Mangala Training and Tournament, organized by Azaz Yunus Emre Institute in primary, secondary, and high schools selected from Azaz, Afrin, Raco, Şeran, Ahtarin, Soran, and Çobanbey cities of the Syrian Safe Zone, ended with the final program held in Azaz on June 29.

As a result of the mangala training for thirty teachers working at primary, secondary, and high school levels in Azaz and Çobanbey between May 24-31, our teachers organized an in-school tournament after giving their students mangala training between June 1-25, 2022.

In the final held at Azaz Yunus Emre Institute on June 29, Soran Boys' Primary School student Mahmud Najjar won first place, while Azaz Halid Bin Velid Primary School student Omar Ahmed Nahel came in second place.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT CHILDREN

Making the closing speech of the program, Yunus Emre Institute Syria Safe Zone Coordinator Fikret Çıtak said, “We are very happy that Mangala, which we describe as the game of brotherhood, attracted attention first among educators and then among our children in the Syrian Safe Zone. In the coming years, we will have both educational activities and material support in teaching our children other mind and intelligence games together with mangala. I would like to thank our teachers who gave this training in their schools and who visited Azaz Yunus Emre Institute today. Indubitable, the biggest thank you is to our children coming from different cities in the region. Mangala is an easy-to-learn mind game where the strategy is constantly changing. While building the future, our children will learn to look at things differently and think differently, as in this game.”

DIFFERENT PARTS OF SOCIETY ARE COMING TOGETHER

In his speech, MEB Education General Coordinator Mustafa Koçak said, “The mind and intelligence games tournaments organized in the region are beneficial for personal development and bring people from different parts of the society together. Today, our teachers and children from different cities have been rewarded for their efforts. It made us happy to come together with such an organization as the 2021-2022 Academic Year comes to an end.”

The program ended after the teachers and students were presented with their educational certificates and gifts.
