Results of the Second Turkish Proficiency Exam in 2018 Released

The results of the second Turkish Proficiency Exam  of the year held on Saturday, May 5, have been released.  

The Turkish Proficiency Exams are organized to internationally standardize Turkish exams and support the policies for admitting foreign students in Turkey. The second Turkish proficiency exam of this year was held at the same time in 39 exam centers in 34 countries with the participation of 652 candidates.  468 candidates, corresponding to a 70 % success rate, were entitled to obtain “Turkish Proficiency Certificates” as a result of the exam. 116 of the candidates were given B2 level proficiency certificates while 312 candidates were given C1 and  40 candidates were given C2 level proficiency certificates.       

Strong Interest by Azerbaijanis in Turkish Universities

The foreign students who took part in the Foreign Students Exams and who are admitted to Turkish universities show great interest in the Turkish Proficiency Exams. The Azerbaijani students who want to study in Turkey and who were successful in the Foreign Students Exam also show great interest in the Turkish Proficiency Exams. 70 % of the participants of the exam held in Baku were made up of high school graduates at the age of 17-18. Ankara was second after Baku in terms of participation with 97 participants. Students aim to be exempted from Turkish preparatory classes by obtaining Turkish Proficiency Certificates. The other cities with strong interest in the exam were  Sarajevo, Kiev, Tehran, Mogadishu and Pristine.  

The last Exam of the Year will be held in July 2018

The next Turkish Proficiency Exam will be organized in July 2018 for which applications will start next June. Next year, the Turkish proficiency exams, which are organized three times per year, are planned to be held in January, May and August. Applications for the exams start nearly one month before the exam dates and results are released in 20 days.   

Turkish Proficiency certificates offer an advantage in job applications for those who want to work in international companies in Turkey or in their own countries, those who  want to work as Turkish translators and those who want to teach Turkish in foreign countries. The certificates also provide an exemption for the students who will study in Turkish universities from mandatory Turkish preparatory classes.
