Teachers who teach Turkish to Syrian children attend in-service training

Yunus Emre Institute has teamed up with the Orphan Foundation to organize the "In-service Training Program for Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language" for the teachers who will teach Turkish to Syrian kids living in the Child Life Center in Reyhanlı district of Hatay, on September 13-14 and September 22-23, 2018.

The participants attended theoretical courses as well as practical work on four basic linguistic skills, given by the experts from Yunus Emre Institute, for four days. The program consisted of the courses titled "In-Class Relations and First Course in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language," "European Languages Instruction Common Reference Text and Teaching Turkish," "Exam Preparation and Assessment Criteria in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language," "Communication with Children with Traumatic Past in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language," "Problems Encountered in Teaching Turkish to Syrian Children," and "Teaching Four Linguistic Skills in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language" as well as workshops.

Following the closing ceremony at the Life Center, the trainees were issued certificates of participation in "In-service Training Program for Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language."
