Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Certification Program Ended

“Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Certification Program”, a joint project by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and Yıldız Technical University TÖMER that started its courses on October 12, ended on October 6, 2015.

The closing event took place in Yıldız Technical University Rectorate’s Hünkâr Hall, which historically served as the presence chamber of Sultan Abdülhamid. Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Deputy Chairman Dr. Şaban Çobanoğlu, Turkish Education Center Assistant Specialist Aybegüm Aksak Gönül, Yıldız TÖMER Assistant Manager Ozan Erdem Güzel, and Specialist Fatma Karaca attended the event. In his opening speech, Ozan Erdem Güzel thanked Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and wished the students luck, reminding them that their mission requires great responsibility. Dr. Şaban Çobanoğlu, who took the stage next, emphasized that teachers of Turkish should also be role models representing Turkey, and advised them to be accordingly well-versed in culture and art. He concluded his speech by saying “Our paths should converge in our love for Turkey and Turkish.”

The event ended with the awarding of the certificates to eligible students.
