Traditional Turkish Archery Course Starts in Serbia's New Novi Pazar City

'Traditional Turkish Archery Course' was opened in New Novi Pazar city in Sandžak region of Serbia.

Yunus Emre Institute Belgrade Turkish Cultural Center Coordinator Dinser Şahin and Novi Pazar Consul General Başar Başol inaugurated the course, which was started as part of the project realized with the cooperation of Yunus Emre Institute and Archers Foundation on April 10th, 2022.

Şahin stated in his opening speech that Yunus Emre Institute's main goal is to be present wherever there is interest in the Turkish language and culture around the world, and added, "We are very happy to be launching our ancestor sport, archery, here today."

"I believe and hope that our trainees will learn our ancestor sport in the best way and will make us proud in the competitions they participate in," Şahin said, noting that in addition to the courses in Belgrade, they opened an archery course in Novi Pazar and served at two different points in Serbia.

"There is an extreme interest in Traditional Turkish Archery in the region, and the presence of Yunus Emre Institute here will be beneficial for this sport to be done more regularly. And we will provide the required support,”  said Novi Pazar Consul General Başar Başol.
