Turkish Language Classroom was Opened in the Gori State Teaching University

Yunus Emre Turkish classroom was opened in the Gori State Teaching University. Not only the students, but also the teachers will learn Turkish in the Turkish classroom.

Within the framework of the Cooperation Protocol signed on February 02, 2021 between Yunus Emre Institute and the Gori State Teaching University, a Yunus Emre Turkish classroom was opened on March 17, 2021 with the support of the Institute.

Republic of Turkey Ambassador to Tbilisi Fatma Ceren Yazgan, Tbilisi Yunus Emre Institute Director Ali Oğuzhan Yüksel, Rector of the Gori State Teaching University Giorgi Sosyashvili, Republic of Turkey Embassy to Tbilisi Education Councilor Yüksel Kara, Deputy Mayor of Gori Paata Ivanishvili, Head of Department of Culture and Youth Affairs of Gori Municipality Ramaz Shioshvili, and representatives from the University attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the programme, ambassador Yazgan expressed her great satisfaction regarding the opening of the Turkish classroom and thanked all the parties involved in the implementation of the project.

Programda konuşan Büyükelçi Yazgan, Türkçe Sınıfın açılmasından büyük memnuniyet duyduğunu ifade ederek projenin gerçekleşmesinde görev alan tüm taraflara teşekkür etti.

RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES WILL STRENGTHEN

The ambassador thanked for the support provided by the Rector of the University Shioshvili in strengthening the Turkish-Georgian relationships further, and said "We are always with you in realizing projects and activities that will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.".

Rector Shioshvili mentioned that the number of students who want to learn the Turkish language in Gori was increasing, that the online Turkish courses started for the registered students with the help of Yunus Emre Institute, and that the number of students would grow with each passing year.

STUDENTS AND FACULTY WILL LEARN TURKISH

Stating that his university cooperates closely with the Universities of Kars, Rize and Erzurum in Turkey, Shioshvili said, “The opening of the Turkish classroom here will further strengthen the relations between our universities. In this class, we want not only the students, but also our teachers to learn Turkish."

After the program, meetings were held about the join activities to be carried out with the collaboration of the Rectorate of the Gori State University, Yunus Emre Institute and the Republic of Turkey Embassy to Tbilisi.
