Turkish Literature Summer School Catalog Published

Yunus Emre Institute held the Turkish Literature Summer School in Istanbul, the capital of arts, with the participation of 25 guest students from 23 countries. The catalog entitled "Dünyayı Güzelleştirmek" (Making the World a Good Place) of the Turkish Literature Summer School, which provided the participants with an opportunity to know Turkish literature more closely, has been published on the website of the Institute.

The program catalog of the Turkish Literature Summer School, organized by Yunus Emre Institute in 2019, organized by the Yunus Emre Institute for the first time in 2019, is out under the title of "Dünyayı Güzelleştirmek." 

Turkish Literature Summer School organized by Yunus Emre Institute with support from the Directorate General of Libraries and Publications was attended by 25 guest students from 23 countries in Istanbul, the capital of arts. 

Yunus Emre Institute hosted 25 guest students from 23 countries in Istanbul, the capital of arts, within the scope of its the Turkish Literature Summer School, organized with support from the Directorate General of Libraries and Publications. 

A JOURNEY INTO THE HEART OF TURKISH LITERATURE

For two weeks, the participants met Turkey's distinguished scholars and artists and paid visits to the historical places which were covered in Turkish literature or which inspired our writers. The students also had a chance to visit and enjoy Istanbul's historical and natural sites during the program.

The program's picturesque route included Istanbul's famous publishing houses, libraries, secondhand booksellers, bookstores and houses of our writers that were turned into museums. Enjoyable visits to Turkey's leading cultural centers such as Süleymaniye Manuscripts Library and Healing Room, Beyazıt Public Library, Atatürk Library, Yapı Kredi Publishing House and Secondhand Bookseller Emin Nedret İşli's shop were made.

The participants had the privilege of learning about Turkish writers and poets in detail by visiting the houses of many writers and poets like Sait Faik Museum, Orhan Kemal Museum, and Tevfik Fikret's Aşiyan Mansion (Aşiyan Museum).

SUBTLETIES OF TURKISH LITERATE GIVEN

Prominent academics and writers of Turkey in the field of Turkish literature described the eras, figures, works and events of Turkish literature for our friends coming from 23 different countries.

The participating students learned about the main events and figures in Turkish literature through the seminars given in major literature venues. The participants tried to understand and learn our rich and distinguished literature, a produce of Turkish language. 

At the Turkish Literature Summer School, prominent academics and writers of our country in the field of Turkish literature described the eras, figures, works and events of Turkish literature for our friends coming from 23 different countries. 

The participants had the opportunity to meet Beşir Ayvazoğlu, Ahmet Ümit, Sevinç Çokum, Handan İnci, İskender Pala, Mario Levi, Mehmet Fatih Uslu, Mert Öksüz, Ahu Sıla, Selahattin Özpalabıyıklar, Turgay Anar, Turan Karataş, İbrahim Öztürkçü, Ercan Akbay, Ömer Erdem, Ali Ayçil, Necmettin Turinay, Bahtiyar Aslan, Kadir Yılmaz, Sevengül Sönmez, Ahmet Özcan, Emin Nedret İşli, Ahmed Güner Sayar, Abdullah Uçman, Işık Öğütçü, Mustafa Ruhi Şirin, Mehmet Nuri Yardım and many other eminent intellectuals.

This prestigious catalog, entitled "Making the World a Good Place: Turkish Literature Summer School," describes the activities conducted during the two-week program in detail. The catalog does not contain the detail of the colorful program held in Istanbul historical venues. It also includes the experiences, impressions and memories of the students who participated in the program which was enjoyable and paved the way for establishing new friendships.
