Yunus Emre Enstitüsü with 45 centres and 100 contact points worldwide, launched its operations also in Brazil.

Sao Paulo Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Director Hüsamettin Aslan, got together with the Muslim community of Mesquita Brasil, the first mosque in Latin America and Brazil. Hüsamettin Aslan, who performed the Friday prayer with Brazilian Muslims, chatted with the community after the prayer and firstly introduced Yunus Emre Enstitüsü.

Brazilian Muslims who enjoyed hours-long conversation, informed Sao Paulo Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Director Aslan on their own status. Brazilian Muslims explained that Mesquita Brasil Mosque offering a complex where Muslims gather and hold educational, cultural, religious and social activities was built in 1920, and how things have changed since the past.

Hüsamettin Aslan left Mesquita Brasil Mosque after he exchanged Bayram greeting with Brazilian community and promised to visit them again, relayed the experience as follows:

“We wished to meet with Brazilian Muslims immediately after becoming operational. We first got acquainted with Imam Abdulhamid in the mosque we entered for Friday prayer. He wished to introduce us with his congregation. We had an extensive chat with the congregation after Friday prayer. Questions on Turkish history, culture, language and Turkey were addressed to me. I was glad to see that Muslims take interest in Turkey. The interest of the community hinted that we will not be alone also in Brazil.”

Sao Paulo Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Director Hüsamettin Aslan and his entourage visited Turkish National Team who competed in 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, one of world's largest and most extensive organisations, and had the most successful performance in history of the organisation with three gold medals. Hüsamettin Aslan congratulated the national athletes who won 1 silver and 5 bronze medals in addition to 3 gold medals, presented the team with gifts.

Hüsamettin Aslan briefly met with Turkish Federation for the Physically Handicapped Board of Directors Deputy Chairman Nejat Yeniatakan, Turkish Paralympic Team Chief of Delegation Mehmet Sirkeci and Turkish Federation for the Physically Handicapped Vice Chairman of the Management Board Oğuz Çerik from Turkish National Team delegation management.
