Turkish Poems from Romanian and Tatar Students

The 6th Traditional Turkish Poetry Recital Competition has been organized for the public schools in Dobruja region of Romania.

The event was held by Yunus Emre Institute's Constanța Branch in cooperation with Constanța Provincial Education Inspectorate on Wednesday, May 22 in three categories: "Turkish and Tatar Children 0th and 4th Grades Poetry Category," "Turkish and Tatar Children 5th and 8th Grades Poetry Category," and "Romanian Children 0th and 8th Grades Poetry Category."

53 students from the province of Constanța and neighboring settlements took part in the competition with Turkish poems, and the event was attended by Şahinur Turan, the wife of Consul General of the Republic of Turkey to Constanța, İcbal Anefi, the Turkish Inspector of Constanța Provincial Education Inspectorate, and the principals and teachers working at the schools in Constanța.

The competing students recited the poems, "Çocuk" (Child) by Arif Nihat Asya, "Kitabım" (My Book) by Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca, and "Memleket İsterim" (I Want A Hometown).

The contestants were given certificates of participation and the winners were presented their awards before the participants posed for a souvenir photo.
