Kyiv Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) held a first in Ukraine. Turkish courses for the children groups aged between 4-6, 7-9 and 10-14, who live in Ukraine and want to learn Turkish, started for the first time on September 25, 2021 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

TURKISH FOR CHILDREN - PRESCHOOL BOOK IS USED

The Turkish courses for children at Kyiv YEI started with huge participation. Within the course that is held in different hours, the lectures for especially the student group aged between 4-6 started by using the "Turkish for Children - Preschool" book. The songs, the coloring and the listening activities in the book raise the interest of the children and increase their motivation towards learning Turkish.

THERE IS GREAT INTEREST FOR TURKISH COURSES FOR CHILDREN IN KYIV

Republic of Turkey's Ambassador in Kyiv Ahmet Yağmur Güldere and his wife Seda Güldere visited the courses at Kyiv YEI and were informed about the "Turkish for Children - Preschool" book. They presented their thanks to Yunus Emre Institute for their contribution in the organization of the workshop and expressed their happiness for having such courses in Kyiv. Yunus Emre Institute Director of Turkish Language Teaching and Turcology Prof. Yavuz Kartallıoğlu stated that the families and children came together with the Turkish for children courses and it was necessary to open Turkish courses also for the parents of the children who participated in the courses.

Kyiv YEI Deputy Director İhsan Demirbaş mentioned that there has been great interest for the Turkish course for children in Kyiv for a long time. Demirbaş emphasized that materials prepared by YEI within the framework of their expertise in the field and modern methods increased the level of the courses and stated that they received very positive feedback from both the parents and the children. Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Language Teaching and Turcology Assistant Experts and the authors of the "Turkish for Children - Preschool" book, Melike Erdem İpek and Hamza Salduz expressed their pleasure in applying the book for first time in abroad.

THEY ARE LEARNING TURKISH WHILE HAVING FUN

Before the lectures, a face painter painted the faces of all children within the framework of the workshop. Nasreddin Hodja, Keloğlan and princess costumes attracted great deal of attention from the children throughout the workshop. The happiness of the children who learned while having fun could be seen from their faces. Turkish workshop continued with different activities and applications and ended after giving various gifts to the children, taking a commemoration photo and expressing good wishes.

"TURKISH DELIGHT AND COLOGNE IN TURKISH CULTURE" CONFERENCE

Kyiv YEI organized a conference entitled "Turkish Delight and Cologne in Turkish Culture" on September 27, 2021. The Turkish and Ukrainian authorities, culture and art societies, scholars and many Ukrainian students participated in the conference.

Interest was high in the conference where Yunus Emre Institute Director of Turkish Language Teaching and Turcology Prof. Yavuz Kartallıoğlu was a speaker. During the conference, Prof. Kartallıoğlu told the adventure of the Turkish delight and cologne from past to today. Participants followed the conference with great interest. Kartallıoğlu ended his speech with poems and chansonettes after providing important information about the etymological reviews of Turkish delight and cologne.

The audience expressed their pleasure after having the chance to taste different Turkish delights and trying colognes with beautiful scents at the end of the conference. The event ended with the commemoration photo and good wishes.
