Yunus Emre Institute attends YÖK Virtual Fair

"Study in Turkey YÖK Virtual Fair," held online for the promotion of Turkish universities, aroused great interest. Having placed emphasis on online Turkish courses during the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching new countries, Yunus Emre Institute has made a comprehensive presentation about Turkish education opportunities. YÖK Virtual Fair 2020, which was watched by Turkish enthusiasts from 164 countries, was followed by nearly 40 thousand people worldwide. 

The "Study in Turkey YÖK Virtual Fair 2020," which was organized online by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for the promotion of Turkish universities in digital venues for foreign students during the COVID-19 pandemic, has ended.

The fair, which opened its doors to its visitors in the virtual environment between July 20 and 22, 2020, attracted great attention and led to attracting attention to Turkish higher education from all over the world, especially from the 142 countries with Turkish diplomatic missions. The fair was held at the Internet address: "www.virtualfair-yok.gov.tr." Yunus Emre Institute also made a comprehensive presentation on Turkish education activities during the fair. 

TURKISH ENTHUSIASTS FROM 164 COUNTRIES FOLLOWED THE FAIR

YÖK officials reported that the fair covered 190 higher education institutions and was visited by 38,544 unique visitors a total of 59,227 times in three days. Visitors from a total of 164 countries entered the virtual fair, which had 259,417 page visits. YÖK Virtual Fair 2020 attracted the most attention from Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Somalia and the United States, respectively.

During the fair, which ended at 20:00 on Wednesday, July 22, our higher education institutions informed international student candidates through online interviews and seminars on a lot of topics especially on their units, programs, admission requirements and quotas, and scholarship and accommodation opportunities. 

164 ÜLKEDEN TÜRKÇE MERAKLILARI FUARI TAKİP ETTİ

YÖK yetkililerinden alınan bilgiye göre 190 yükseköğretim kurumunun yer aldığı fuar, üç gün içinde 38 bin 544 tekil ziyaretçi tarafından toplam 59 bin 227 kez ziyaret edildi. 259 bin 417 sayfa ziyaretinin olduğu sanal fuara toplam 164 ülkeden ziyaretçi girişi oldu. YÖK Sanal Fuar 2020'ye yurtdışından en fazla ilgi, sırasıyla Pakistan, Hindistan, Suudi Arabistan, Endonezya, Irak, Azerbaycan, Mısır, Bangladeş, Somali ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nden oldu.

22 Temmuz Çarşamba günü saat 20.00’de sona eren fuar süresince yükseköğretim kurumlarımız; birimleri, programları, kabul koşulları ve kontenjanları, burs ve konaklama imkânları başta olmak üzere birçok merak edilen konuda, uluslararası öğrenci adaylarını çevrim içi görüşmeler ve seminerler yoluyla bilgilendirdi.

In his presentation, Yunus Emre Institute Expert Ahmet Hattatioğlu provided information on the Turkish courses in Yunus Emre Cultural Centers, My Choice Is Turkish Project, Turkish Education Portal, online Turkish courses, Turkish learning materials, Turkish Proficiency Exam, and Turkish Summer School.

As an institution that continues its Turkish teaching activities during the COVID-19 outbreak in an accelerated manner through its online activities and reaches thousands of people in countries where Turkish courses have not been provided before, Yunus Emre Institute also took part in the fair. Yunus Emre Institute, which also reaches those who did not have the opportunity to attend a Turkish course through online Turkish education activities, made a very informative presentation on Turkish education activities. Yunus Emre Institute Expert Ahmet Hattatioğlu firstly mentioned the activities of Yunus Emre Institute. Speaking about the Turkish education opportunities of the Institute, Hattatioğlu explained the Turkish courses in Yunus Emre Cultural Centers, My Choice Is Turkish Project, Turkish Education Portal, online Turkish courses, Turkish learning materials, Turkish Proficiency Exam, and Turkish Summer School in his presentation.

Answering the questions of the viewers during the presentation, Hattatioğlu also informed the viewers about the advantages of Turkish for career, education and cultural life. Hattatioğlu also said that Turkey became the meeting point of the world youth with the Turkish Summer School programs organized by Yunus Emre Institute.

"ALMOST 180,000 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN TURKEY"

"Almost 180,000 international students from 182 countries are studying in Turkey."

This virtual fair, the first in the history of the YÖK, has provided an important promotional opportunity to potential students in foreign countries to attract more international students to the Turkish higher education system. Speaking about the fair, YÖK President Saraç underlined that they offer an important promotion opportunity to students in foreign countries to include more international students in our Turkish higher education system, where nearly 180,000 international students from 182 countries are trained.

A TOTAL OF 190 UNIVERSITIES ATTENDED THE FAIR

A total of 190 universities from all over the world attended the fair.

Stating that young people of higher education age met with 190 universities in the virtual environment through the fair, Saraç pointed out that young people were able to access information about various opportunities offered in our higher education institutions including distance learning and education.
