Yunus Emre Institute Hosted Chinese Delegation Visiting Turkey Under Its “Be Our Guest” Call

The Yunus Emre Institute hosted in Turkey another delegation composing of 11 journalists and social media representatives under its “Be Our Guest” project launched last year as part of its cultural diplomacy.  

The visit was led by Chinese journalist Le Fei who had visited Turkey last Year under the “Be Our Guest” call and desired to make more contributions to Turkish-Chinese relations because of his positive impressions in his first visit. Lu Fei said he was fascinated by the natural beauties of Turkey and they were welcomed sincerely in Turkey. He added: “We will tell about Turkey when we return to our country. Our aim is to promote Turkey with the contributions of the Yunus Emre Institute since the year 2018 has also been declared Turkey-China year.”           

The delegation had an opportunity to visit various historical and touristic places between 26 June-3 July in an itinerary starting with Istanbul and ending in Fethiye. In addition, the delegation, accompanied by Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş, also visited Istanbul Technopark to see on site Turkey’s capacity to develop technology and Turkey’s development level in the economic, social  and scientific  fields.     

Prof. Dr. Ateş said that the guests, who were invited under the slogan “Be Our Guest and Let’s Promote Turkey Together”, were given an opportunity to learn on site about Turkey and the Turkish culture. This way, he continued, a positive Turkey perception was created, media members made their news on site and they significantly contributed to both Turkey’s promotion and the development of Turkish-Chinese relations. 

The project aims to achieve that the guests share their experiences in Turkey with their followers. It is expected to continue with delegations from India, Japan and South Korea.
