Yunus Emre Institute at Kyrgyzstan EXPO Tourism Fair

The Yunus Emre Institute took part in the “Kyrgyzstan EXPO Tourism Fair” together with the Office for Culture and Information of the Turkish Embassy in Bishkek.  

Information about Turkey and the Yunus Emre Institute were provided in the joint stand opened in the Bishkek Supara Fair ground. Visitors were informed about the different activities of the Yunus Emre Institute, which has  over 150 contact points in 70 countries, such as teaching of Turkish, Turkish culture, science diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and the Turkology project while videos were  displayed by the Office of the Counsellor for Culture and Information about Turkey’s tourism potential.   

The stand was visited by Deputy Minister of Cultural Information and Tourism of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan  Azamat Camankulov, Turkish Ambassador in Bishkek Cengiz Kamil Fırat, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador in Bishkek Komil Rashidov, TRNC’s Representative in Bishkek Atınç Keskin, UN Coordinator / UNDP Representative in Kyrgyzstan  Ozonnia Ocielo, Turkish Counsellor for Culture and Information Ass. Dr. Nuri Şimşekler and representatives of various other countries. During the fair, Turkish folk instruments flute and baglama were also played for the visitors.

During the event which took place on 23 June 2018, visitors were also offered Turkish traditional tastes such as baklava, Turkish delight, tea, coffee and ayran.
