Yunus Emre Institute runs joint project with AA

Anadolu Agency (AA) Russian Editor's Office staff has completed the Turkish language training program held at Yunus Emre Institute's Baku branch.

Following the 3-month training designed to improve the Turkish language skills of the employees, the trainees took an exam. Certificates were presented to the trainees who successfully completed exams in Turkish writing, comprehension and speaking.

Yunus Emre Institute Baku Branch Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihan Özdemir delivered a speech at the certificate award ceremony held at the Institute's Baku branch, pointing out that it was significant for the AA employees in Azerbaijan, which had close ties with Turkey, to improve their Anatolian Turkish. Noting that the instructors working at the Institute had prepared the training program taking into consideration the professional characteristics of the trainees, Özdemir stated that the cooperation between the Institute and the AA was exemplary.

In his speech, AA Asia Caucasus Representative Tolga Özgenç stressed that the Institute was the standard bearer of the Turkish language. "As the AA, we are meticulously promoting the activities of Yunus Emre Institute. Sometimes, we conduct joint projects like this one. The employees of the AA's Russian Editor's Office can speak Russian fluently, but we believe that everyone who works at a Turkish institution should speak Turkish as well. It is for this purpose we carried out this project jointly with the Institute," he said.

Aynur Asgerli, an employee the at AA's Russian Editor's Office who completed the Turkish training course, indicated that their Turkish writing and speaking skills were improved thanks to the training. Abdurrahman Yusubov pointed out that their acquisition at the course had made great contributions to their work.
