Zümrüd-ü Anka (Phoenix); A Civilization Musical in the Balkans

"Zümrüd-ü Anka" musical, put on stage by TRT under the auspices of Turkish Presidency, is performed abroad for the first time in the Balkans.

The first stop on the Balkan tour of the show to be staged between November 19th and December 3rd, 2017 was Thessaloniki, Greece. The Zümrüd-ü Anka musical, to be performed also in Skopje, Tirana, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Zagreb, Bucharest and Sofia respectively, plays an important role in introducing Turkish culture and civilization through art.

The crew comprised of a symphonic orchestra, traditional Turkish music instruments and dancers, are accompanied by a stage design and visual effects based on advanced technology. Turkish cultural values combined with the story of this ancient myth and teachings are presented to the taste of art lovers with the musical that combines light, sound, music and dance.

After the premiere in Haliç Congress Centre held before the Balkans tour, Zümrüd-ü Anka met with tens of thousands of art lovers within the scope of Antalya Expo 2016 events and the musical is supported by Turkish Prime Ministry Promotion Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, TRT, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Media Inc., Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture Inc. and Yunus Emre Institute.
