Romania's Historical Peles Castle to Host its Visitors in Turkish
Yunus Emre Institute makes significant contributions to the dissemination of Turkish throughout the country with various projects implemented in Romania.
According to the statement made by the institute, within the scope of the "My Guide is Turkish Project" carried out in cooperation with the Romanian Ministry of Culture and the Romanian Yunus Emre Institute, information notes, printed materials and audio guides in museums in Romania have started to be translated into Turkish with the support of the Yunus Emre Institute.
Peleş Castle, visited by approximately one million people a year, was the first stop of the project.
Türkiye's Ambassador to Bucharest Özgür Kıvanç Altan, Romanian Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mustafa Yıldız and Peleş Castle Director Narcis Dorin Ion attended the program where the opening and plaque ceremony was held. In the program, after the ribbon cutting ceremony, a plaque was installed at the visitor entrance of the museum.
Altan, whose views were included in the statement, stated that a special and important project has been implemented used the following expressions: "Yunus Emre Institute, which is the flag bearer of our beautiful language Turkish, continues its activities in Romania. Approximately 300 million people in the world speak Turkish. With this project, the Turkic World "Everyone visiting Romania from Turkey will be able to visit museums and historical sites only in Turkish. The foundation has been laid and Peleş Castle now welcomes its guests from Turkey and Turkish-speaking countries in this language."

Mustafa Yıldız emphasized that they were proud to realize this project and made the following assessmen: "To see our beautiful language, the fifth most spoken and learned language in the world, in the museums and historical sites of our Romanian friends in Romania, to contribute to the easier informing of visiting tourists and to carry out a permanent work motivate us.”
Reminding that the first stop on their route was Peleş Castle, built on the initiative of King Carol I, "Turkish will be added to the audio guide service within a month after the printed materials. Our goal is to translate Romania's major museums and ruins into Turkish by the end of 2024. We are establishing and striving to strengthen the cultural ties between Türkiye and Romania with great effort and sincerity," Yıldız commented.
Peles Castle Museum General Manager Dr. Narcis Dorin Ion stated that there are Turkish traces in the museum, that the relations between Türkiye and Romania are very good in terms of diplomacy and culture, and that the role of Yunus Emre Institute is important in the development of these bilateral relations.
