A program was organized in Senegal on the occasion of "12 March Adoption of the National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemoration Day".

A ceremony was held at Dakar Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) in cooperation with the Turkish Embassy in Dakar and the Turkish Maarif Foundation, within the scope of the 103rd Anniversary of the Adoption of the National Anthem on March 12 and the commemoration day of Mehmet Akif Ersoy.

 At the ceremony, Dakar YEI Coordinator Merve Işık Efe, in her speech about the meaning and importance of the day, explained the details of the writing and adoption process of the National Anthem and Ersoy's experiences during this process.

Then, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Dakar, Nur Sağman, underlined that Turkey overcame the difficult times with unity and solidarity, and called on young people to be united.

At the end of the ceremony, Turkish Maarif Foundation students watched the movie "Akif".
