“13rd Communication with the Future Workshop” was held by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) with the contributions of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo, Yunus Emre Institute, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.

The program, which was hosted by the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) between October 10-13, 2023 in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was attended by RTÜK Deputy Chairman Orhan Karadaş, RTÜK Deputy Chairman İbrahim Uslu, Sarajevo Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mehmet Akif Yaman, IUS Rector Professor Ahmet Yıldırım, representatives of Turkish institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, academicians, students and guests.

RTÜK Deputy Chairman Orhan Karadaş stated that Türkiye has deep historical relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and made the following assessment: “We are on the same side with Bosnia and Herzegovina in various fields, especially culture and media. We specifically chose Bosnia and Herzegovina as the place where our program will be held, and we determined the topic of our workshop as media and cultural construction. The most important reason why we chose this title is that media and culture play a role as the most important determining factors of our age.”

RTÜK Deputy Chairman İbrahim Uslu emphasized that the workshop has become a tradition for them and stated that the program has an important place in the field of public diplomacy.

Stating that they accept foreign students who continue their education in Türkiye and speak Turkish at an advanced level, Uslu made the following statement:

“When students return to their countries, they transfer the riches and cultural values of our country to their own countries, and at the same time, they establish hearth bonds between the countries they visit and our country. We meet students who have been involved in this program over the years in many countries we visited as part of the workshop. For example, we go to Romania and see that the general manager of a media organization is one of the people in this program.”

In his speech at the event, IUS Rector Professor Ahmet Yıldırım stated that it was a great success for RTÜK to make the workshop a tradition and stated that the issues discussed in the workshop touched upon important areas of communication.
