2016 Presidential Culture and Art Grand Prizes were Granted

With Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Chairman of the Executive Board Ömer Arısoy and Enstitü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş on the Evaluation Committee, 2016 Presidential Culture and Art Grand Prizes were granted.

It was announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan deemed Mustafa Kutlu, Prof. Dr. Kemal Haşim Karpat, Erol Parlak, Şener Şen, Feridun Özgören and Süheyl Ünver  worthy of 2016 Presidential Culture and Art Grand Prizes.

According to the statement issued by Presideny Press Centre, the winners of this year's Presidential Culture and Art Grand Prize winners were selected.

Prizes are bestowed within the scope of "Presidential Culture and Art Grand Prizes Regulations" to honour and encourage on behalf of the state Turkish citizens and foreign nationals and institutions who make outstanding contributions into Turkish culture and art life with their services and works, work for the elevation of culture and art in Turkey and who display outstanding talent with their original works or services.

Presidential Culture and Art Grand Prizes Evaluation Board was formed by Deputy Secretary General for Presidency Fahri Kasırga, Deputy Secretary General for Presidency Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Kalın, Chief Press Advisor for Presidency Lütfullah Göktaş, Adviser to the President H. Hümeyra Şahin, Undersecretary of Culture and Tourism Ömer Arısoy, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and the author Alev Alatlı.
