Olymp'ARTS  (Olympics of Art), which dates back to 566 BC and is one of the most important legacies of antiquity, just like the sports Olympics, will wake up in 2023 from its centuries-long slumber.

The founding charter of the Art Olympics, which aims to be revived under the leadership of the United Nations (UN), UNESCO, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), was signed in 1995 by 65 countries, including Turkey. The first modern 'Art Olympics' festival of Olymp'ARTS, which has been in the process of establishment and preparation since then and whose headquarters is located in Geneva, is planned to be held in Geneva between 11-21 July 2023. The second of the 2023 preparatory meetings of Olymp'ARTS, which was expected to make a global impact, was held online on August 11, 2022. Upon the invitation of Olymp'ARTS officials in China, the virtual session, which was also attended by the Beijing Yunus Emre Institute representing Turkey, was attended by representatives of relevant institutions, artists, and scientists from many countries, including China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Switzerland.

"WE WISH IT BRINGS PEACE, PROSPERITY, AND BEAUTY TO THE WHOLE WORLD AND HUMANITY"

In the session where world-renowned musician Lang Lang also sent a video message, Tayfun Kalkan, Beijing Yunus Emre Institute Director, said the following in his speech:

"Olymp'Art will feature many colorful, eye-catching, and aesthetically valuable artworks that Turkey, which has signed the founding works of Olymp'Art, will reflect with its artists in this globally influential art phenomenon. I do not doubt that. Turkey, where the continents of Asia and Europe meet and many different cultures fuse with each other, has a dazzling civilizational and cultural heritage. We also have a young population that is well-educated, integrated with the world, and keen on exploration and cultural interaction, showing a great interest in outputs that blend the technological and scientific developments of our age with the arts. As all of you esteemed listeners know, the only formula that will fill the planet we live on with peace and beauty, and bring it to a fairer standard of living, is art, science, and sports. In this respect, we would like to express our gratitude to all those who have worked hard to bring Olymp'ART to life. Finally, as Yunus Emre Institute, we wish that the Olymp'ART organization will bring peace, prosperity, and beauty to the whole world and humanity."
