Another "Those Deserving Applause" prize goes to Yunus Emre Institute

Yunus Emre Institute has been awarded with Cultural Interaction prize for its successful activities abroad at the 9th ceremony held by the International Radio Broadcasting Union (IRU).

Ahead of the award ceremony, the guests visited, and showed great interest in, the "July 15 with Photos" exhibition, organized by the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry General Directorate of Press and Information (BYEGM).

Delivering the keynote speech, International Radio Broadcasting Union Chairman Yusuf Erbaş pointed out that they wanted to give "Those Deserving Applause" their due in order to encourage positive examples in the field of communication and media, especially radio broadcasting.

At the ceremony, various communication and media institutions as well as artists and organizations were given awards and Yunus Emre Institute grabbed the Cultural Interaction Deserving Applause prize. The prize, presented by BYEGM Director General Mehmet Akarca, was received by Turkology Director Tayfun Kalkan on behalf of Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş.

July 15 Press Prize, July 15 Politics Prize, and Social Responsibility Prize were given, respectively, to BYEGM Director General Mehmet Akarca, Justice and Development Party Ankara Deputy Nevzat Ceylan and Cevat Olçok, the brother of Erol Olçok, who was martyred on July 15. The Oscar-nominated movie "Ayla" and the TV series "Payitaht Abdülhamit" were given the "Motion Picture Deserving Applause" prize and "TV Series Deserving Applause" prize, respectively.
