Prizren Yunus Emre Institute  commemorated Âşık Veysel with an event organized on the 50th anniversary of his death, on the occasion of the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Âşık Veysel" by UNESCO and the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. 

Consul Genera of the Republic of Türkiye in Prizrenl Celal Doğan, Kosovo Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ramazan Yılmaz, Kosovo Turkish Representative Delegation President Colonel Sabri Gökhan Karamürsel, representatives of local institutions and organizations as well as many guests attended the program held at Prizren Yunus Emre Institute.

In the program, which started with a cinevision show, writer Sadık Yalsızuçanlar gave information about the life, art and works of Aşık Veysel.

Sefki Kazaz, an instrumentalist from Prizren, revived the night by performing Âşık Veysel folk songs.

The program ended with Author Sadık Yalsızuçanlar signing the books he wrote about Âşık Veysel and taking a group photo.

Yunus Emre Institute continues its projects and activities to promote Âşık Veysel, one of the important figures of Türkiye's cultural heritage, in different geographies of the world within the scope of the "Year of Âşık Veysel".
