"Colours of Anatolia Project" Introduced in Jerusalem

The "Colours of Anatolia" project, sponsored by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü under the auspices of the Consulate General in Jerusalem, was introduced at the Second International Palestinian Cultural Exchange Festival organized by the University of Jerusalem.

The festival held at the University of Jerusalem was attended by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş, Chief Advisor to Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Bekir Karlığa, Consul General of Turkey in Jerusalem Ambassador Gürcan Türkoğlu and many guests.

Speaking at a conference held at University of Jerusalem in this context, Prof. Dr. Karlığa said, "The Islamic civilization has risen by contributions of different cultures and different societies. Arabs have contributed to this common accumulation as much as the Turks. We can observe the most concrete example of this in the Ottoman civilization."

Following Karlığa's speech, the documentary titled "A River Flowing  Westward" by Karlığa was also screened at the conference hall of the university within the scope of Anatolian Colours Project.

Later, the exhibition "Art with Identity in Spite of Globalization" by artist Tuna Akçay with city and human themes was opened in university's exhibition hall.

The program also featured a marbling art demonstration and a music concert accompanied by whirling dervishes.
