A Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Yunus Emre Institute and Tunisia Carthage University

A goodwill and cooperation protocol was signed between Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) and Tunisia Carthage University Higher Institute of Languages. Within the scope of the protocol, Turkish lessons will be given and Turkish culture will be introduced.

YEI Vice President Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Kutalmış attended the signing ceremony held at the Higher Institute of Languages of the University of Carthage in the capital Tunisia. Dr. Abdullah Kutalmış Yalçın, Director of the Higher Institute of Languages Huda bin Hammadi, YEI Tunisia Coordinator Dr. Ali İhsan Çevik and institute administrators attended.

YEI Vice President Yalçın, who made a statement regarding the protocol that envisages giving Turkish courses at YEI's Carthage University Higher Institute of Languages used the following expressions: "We are signing a very important agreement together with the Director of Carthage University Higher Institute of Languages, one of the distinguished institutions of Tunisia, and our department professors. He works at the Tunisian YEI Turkish Cultural Center. After this agreement comes into force, our instructors will start teaching Turkish as an elective foreign language to students."

Emphasizing that they aim to strengthen the relations between Tunisia and Türkiye with activities in the cultural field, Yalçın continued as follows:

"Hundreds of Tunisians have received Turkish education so far in our branch in Tunisia, which has started its activities since 2017. YEI is trying to increase the number of people who make friends with Turkish people around the world by introducing Turkish culture and history and teaching Turkish. With this protocol we made within the University of Carthage, we contribute to the work we do worldwide. We will add a new one."

"We aim to introduce Turkish culture as well as language education at the Institute."

Stating that they signed an important cooperation agreement on behalf of the High Institute of Languages of Carthage University, Institute Director Hammadi used the following expressions: "We believe that we will make a significant contribution to strengthening the relations between the two countries with this agreement. We are also taking an important step for our students, because we are paving the way for them to learn a new language. Learning Turkish. We hope that new horizons will be opened in their working and educational lives. We aim to introduce Turkish culture as well as language education at the Institute. We also believe that this cooperation agreement will support the mutual transfer of experience between instructors from the two countries."

Stating that the agreement does not only cover language education, "With this signed cooperation protocol, we will support Turkish lessons and carry out studies on cultural, artistic and scientific activities. In this way, we believe that we will help students establish ties with Turkish and Turkey. In Tunisia We aim to realize solid collaborations between our Institute and universities by making similar protocols with other universities." YEI Tunisia Coordinator Çevik said.
