Khartoum Yunus Emre Enstitüsü introduced Turkish translation of the book "Drina Bridge" by Sudanese author Hasaney, also known as a Turkish expert.

Khartoum Yunus Emre Enstitüsü (YEE) organized an event for Turkish translation of the book "Drina Bridge" by Sudanese author Dr. Fatih Ali Hasaney.

The launch of the book "Drina Bridge" in which Hasaney,  known as a Turkish expert in Sudan, collected his memories, and depicted the troubles issues Muslim minorities face in Eastern Europe, was held in the garden of YEE Khartoum Culture Center.

Khartoum Coordinator of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Celalettin Güngenci,  Coordinator of the Turkish Education Foundation (TMV) Ömer Alçep, and a large number of Sudanese and Turkish guests attended the event.

In his speech in the event, Director of YEE Khartoum Cultural Center Feyzullah Bahçi marked that Turkey and Sudan are two sister countries, and Hasaney also functions as a bridge between the two countries with his works and that the book "Drina Bridge" is an example.

Bahçı said, "Mr. Ali Cançelik, who translated this beautiful work into Turkish in a short time with his diligent work, achieved great success. As a result, a useful work both countries can benefit from, was realized."

Translator Asst. Assoc. Dr. Ali Cançelik also mentioned that he met with the book's author Hasaney during his tenure in Sudan YEE in his statement to AA correspondent and spoke as follows:

"Translating a book with such profound content into Turkish has been my chance. It is nice that people have not remained indifferent to my work. I have completed the translation of another book by Mr. Hasaney. I hope it will be published soon.”

Hasaney, a former advisor of the Bosnia-Herzegovina's first president late Aliya Izzetbegovic, said the following in his speech: "I received the news after completing the translation. I cannot tell you how happy I was. Because these works will contribute to the brotherhood between Turkey and Sudan. The bonds with our brothers and sisters in Turkey will become stronger once the second book is translated.”
