Embassies of the Heart Foreign Students shared Festival Joy in Turkey

40 foreign students who learn Turkish all over the world by way of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and currently study in Turkey, participated in the parade held in Ankara on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of establishment of the Republic of Turkey. On October 29th Republic Day, foreign students, walked from the Turkish Grand National Assembly building to the Old Parliament with a crowded cortège representing various sections of the society and greeted Ankara locals.

The 94th anniversary of the establishment of Republic was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Turkey. Many institutions, organizations, NGOs and school representatives attended the parade organized in Ankara. Foreign students who learned Turkish in Yunus Emre Enstitüsü centres abroad and currently study in Turkey, also participated in this year's celebrations.

Walked From Old to New Assembly Building

The ceremonies took start with a Janissary Band concert as band members carried flags of 16 Turkish states and represented these states with their attire. The concert at 12 P.M. was followed by a performance by Karma Band. After a minute of silence and Turkish National Anthem, festival's parade was organized between the Turkish Grand National Assembly building and the Old Parliament.

40 foreign students who learn Turkish in Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Turkish Cultural Centres all over the world and currently study in Turkey, also participated in the cortège led by vehicles carrying veterans. Young people who act as cultural ambassadors, marched from the Turkish Grand National Assembly building to the Old Parliament accompanying a large cortège where various segments of the society were represented and greeted Ankara locals. Cortège was participated by the marching band, soldiers, students, boy scouts, Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Battle of Dardanelles and Battle of Independence, Korea War and Cyprus Victory veterans, groups representing the grand struggle against the July 15th coup attempt and brave Turkish nation; Okçular Lodge, Historical Ottoman Union, national athletes, National Amputee Football Team, Motorized Policemen and Gendarme Team, Motorized Municipal Police, seimenis, folk dance companies and citizens.
