The Film “The Last Letter” Screened in Astana

Yunus Emre Institute continues to carry out activities to contribute to the visibility of the Turkish cinema industry internationally through its representative offices in different geographies of the world.

 

The Turkish film “The Last Letter” was screened by Astana Yunus Emre Institute, hosted by Nazarbayev University, one of the most respected universities in Kazakhstan.

 

The staff of Turkish Embassy in Astana, Nazarbayev University Turkish Club students, Eurasian National University Turkology Department students, Astana Yunus Emre Institute trainees and movie lovers attended the event held at the university’s cinema hall on September 22nd, 2023.

 

After the movie screening, the Communications Counsellor of Turkish Embassy in Astana, Mahmut Şevket Bayram made a speech about the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and the Çanakkale Victory, which was the subject of the film.

In her statement, Astana Yunus Emre Institute Deputy Coordinator Dr. Almagül Issina made the following assessment: “Turkish films attract great attention in Kazakhstan. People who start to get to know Türkiye’s cultural riches through movies want to learn Türkiye Turkish. The number of people in Kazakhstan who learn Turkish and recognize Türkiye’s cultural heritage is increasing day by day.”

 

Turkish Films on the World Stage

 

Yunus Emre Institute, which introduces Turkish culture to the whole world with its different perspectives, continues its activities to promote the qualified works of the Turkish cinema industry, especially films about Turkish history, in more than 60 countries where it has representatives, specifically for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye.
